Kamaru Usman has advised Israel Adesanya to take a similar approach to the end of his UFC career, drawing inspiration from Anderson Silva. The UFC welterweight champion expressed his support for Adesanya on his “Pound 4 Pound” podcast with Henry Cejudo, suggesting that he should focus on entertaining matchups after defending his title five times.
Usman pointed out that Silva had a similar approach before retiring, taking on fun and exciting fights in his final bouts. Usman believes that Adesanya can still prove himself as a fighter and wants to see him pick a “fun fight” that will appeal to fans.
However, Usman advised Adesanya not to rush back into the octagon just yet, urging him to take time off and come back when he’s ready at the end of the year.
