Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 officially launches on Tuesday, but some players are already experiencing issues. On Steam, over 6,000 players have reviewed the game, with less than 50% giving it a positive review. The game’s user interface is particularly under fire, with many calling it “unrefined” and “sloppy.”
Firaxis has responded to early feedback, confirming they are aware of the criticisms and plan to focus on improving the UI as their top priority. They will also address other issues, including cooperative multiplayer teams, a wider variety of map types, and custom city and religion names.
A patch, version 1.1.0, is scheduled for release in March, which will include quality-of-life UI adjustments and bug fixes. The developer has acknowledged the game’s rough spots and is committed to improving it. With its official launch coming soon, Civilization 7 fans are eagerly awaiting the promised updates and improvements.
