Legendary Filmmaker David Lynch Dies at 78

Renowned director David Lynch, behind iconic films like The Elephant Man and Blue Velvet, has passed away due to cardiac arrest with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease listed as an underlying cause. Dehydration was also a significant contributing factor. Tributes poured in from industry insiders including Kyle MacLachlan, Naomi Watts, Bob Iger, Ted Sarandos, Ron Howard, and Martin Scorsese. Lynch had been battling emphysema since 2020 due to years of smoking tobacco. He took remote direction work post-COVID diagnosis and was working on a new limited series for Netflix before his death. Lynch’s remains were cremated and buried at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
