A recall has been issued by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for a brand of tahini sesame paste due to possible Salmonella contamination. The affected product was distributed in multiple states, including Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, and others.
Turkana Food Inc., in collaboration with the FDA, recalled 858 cases of Aleppo Tahini Sesame Paste after it was found to contain Salmonella. The product was sold in jars with a gold color and plastic packaging.
The FDA warns consumers who purchased the product to return it for a full refund or dispose of it immediately. Consumers can identify the affected product by its Lot # 120824-01, UPC Label 854643003054, and Expiration Date August 2026.
