Apple is set to announce a new iPhone SE this week, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The device, dubbed the “iPhone SE 4,” is expected to feature a mix of features from the iPhone 14 and iPhone 16 series, including a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, and USB-C port.
The iPhone SE 4 will likely be announced in a press release published on Apple’s Newsroom website, as the company has not scheduled an event. The device is expected to support Apple Intelligence, a feature that combines AI with machine learning capabilities.
Compared to its predecessor, which resembles an iPhone 8 and features outdated technology like Touch ID and a Lightning port, the new iPhone SE is expected to offer significant improvements in design and performance. Pricing for the new device starts at $429, but may increase towards $499.
In other news, Apple is internally testing iOS 18.3.1 for iPhones, which should be released within the next few weeks. The update addresses software bugs and security vulnerabilities. Additionally, the British government has reportedly demanded that Apple create a back door to access encrypted user content, sparking concerns about data security.
