A protester briefly disrupted Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday, unfurling a Palestinian and Sudanese flag during the performance of his song “Not Like Us.” The protester, part of the 400-member field cast, was not aware of their planned intention.
According to the NFL, the individual hid the item on their possession and unveiled it late in the show. Roc Nation, the entertainment company behind the halftime show, stated that the act was neither planned nor part of the production.
The protester was seen standing on the hood of a rare car named after Lamar’s album “GNX,” wearing black sweats with solidarity symbols on the flag. The person jumped from the stage, waving the flag and running in circles until being tackled by security and removed from the field.
