Blue Ghost Lunar Lander Enters Orbit Ahead of Moon Landing

The Blue Ghost Lunar Lander, built by Firefly Aerospace, is orbiting the Earth as part of its mission to land on the moon in early March. As one of NASA’s contracted private companies, Firefly is working towards sending people back to the moon with the Artemis program.

Thermal engineer Jackson Sweeney, who works at Firefly, plays a crucial role in regulating the lander’s temperature. A native of Pearland, Sweeney graduated from Manvel High School and credits his Houston upbringing for inspiring his career in space exploration.

In an interview, Sweeney discussed the current activities of the Blue Ghost Lander and its plans once it reaches the moon.
