Mass General Brigham Announces Largest Layoff in History

Mass General Brigham (MGB) plans to let go of hundreds of employees over the next two months, citing anticipated financial shortfalls and operational challenges at its 12 hospitals. The health system, which employs roughly 82,000 people, aims to save at least $200 million annually by reducing costs. This move will be broken into two rounds: one this week and another in March. Executives initially planned a more gradual rollout but have accelerated the process due to financial pressures.
