SpaceX Launches 21 Starlink V2 Mini Satellites into Orbit

SpaceX successfully launched 21 Starlink V2 Mini satellites into low Earth orbit from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Tuesday afternoon. Thirteen of the satellites feature Direct to Cell capabilities, a technology that allows users to access internet services directly through their cellphones.

The Falcon 9 rocket, carrying booster B1077, took off at 1:53 p.m. EST and landed just eight minutes later on the droneship “Just Read the Instructions.” This marked the 109th successful landing for the booster and the 408th overall landing to date.

This launch is significant as it marks SpaceX’s continued expansion of its Starlink internet service, which has been beta-tested with T-Mobile. The company announced that more than 450 Starlink satellites featuring Direct to Cell functionality have been launched to date.

SpaceX also expanded its service availability to Bhutan, the newest country where Starlink is now accessible. With this addition, the company’s satellite network spans 121 countries, territories, or markets worldwide, providing internet services to a growing number of people.
