Grammys Honor Country Music Legends Toby Keith, Tito Jackson

Country music icons Toby Keith and Tito Jackson were honored during the 67th Grammy Awards’ In Memoriam segment. The tribute began with a video paying respects to One Direction’s Liam Payne, who died in October at 31. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin performed his ballad “All My Love” while photos of honorees appeared on screen.

Tributes were also paid to music legends Kris Kristofferson, Cissy Houston, and Duane Eddy, among others. The In Memoriam segment included notable musicians Dickey Betts, Joe Bonsall, and Abdul Kareem “Duke” Fakir, as well as influential producer Quincy Jones.

Toby Keith, a Country Music Hall of Famer from Norman, Oklahoma, died in February 2024 at 62 after battling stomach cancer. Tito Jackson, former member of the Jackson 5, passed away September 15th at 70 due to a heart attack. The Grammys paid tribute to both musicians during their respective segments, acknowledging their contributions to music.
