Kanye West’s Yeezy.com website has been removed after the brand posted a single T-shirt with a Nazi swastika emblazoned on the front. Shopify, the hosting platform for Yeezy, stated that the brand violated its policies due to the “unsafe, inappropriate or offensive” product.
The T-shirt was available on Monday morning but disappeared from the website by Tuesday afternoon. West recently aired a Super Bowl ad featuring himself with diamond-encrusted teeth, and some critics accused him of promoting Nazi aesthetics.
A former Yeezy employee has filed a lawsuit against West, claiming she faced discrimination, harassment, and retaliation due to her gender and Jewish religion. The lawsuit also accuses West of antisemitism and misogyny, citing examples of his language and behavior towards employees, including text messages that used Nazi imagery and derogatory terms.
West’s social media tirades against Jewish people have been widely criticized, and the lawsuit seeks damages for economic, compensatory, non-economic, and punitive losses. The incident has sparked concerns about West’s behavior and accountability as a brand owner and public figure.
