FGF Brands, a pastry wholesaler, has issued a voluntary recall of its baked goods products due to potential listeria risks at one of its facilities. The recall affects approximately 2 million baked goods in the US and Canada.
The company detected “environmental findings” of listeria at one of its facilities, prompting the recall. However, FGF Brands assures consumers that all its products, including doughnuts, are safe to eat.
The recalled products include filled and flavored doughnuts, cinnamon sticks, French crullers, and fritters sold by Dunkin’, produced before December 13, 2024. Customers can contact FGF Brands via email at [email protected] for questions and concerns.
Listeria poisoning can cause serious health consequences, particularly in vulnerable populations such as older adults, people with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, convulsions, diarrhea, and other gastrointestinal symptoms. If you suspect you’ve consumed contaminated food, seek medical attention immediately.
All affected products were recalled by early January and are no longer on the market. For more information on the recall, visit the FDA’s website.
