Coca-Cola Sees Surprise Revenue Jump Amid Demand Recovery and Price Hikes

Coca-Cola’s quarterly revenue rose 4.2% to $11.40 billion, beating analysts’ expectations, as demand for sparkling sodas like Fanta and Sprite increased amid a 2% growth in volumes.

The company’s decision to launch limited-edition flavors and increase prices contributed to the surprise rise in revenue, which was driven by growth in North America and emerging markets such as India. In contrast, rival PepsiCo reported a 3% drop in volume for its two biggest segments of North American beverages.

Executives said they expect inflationary pricing to moderate in 2025, while maintaining an annual sales growth forecast at the upper end of their long-term target of 5-6%. The company’s expansion into premium brands such as Fairlife milk and sparkling water Topo Chico is also seen as a key driver of growth.

Despite missing some expectations on profit growth outlook, Coca-Cola’s shares rose about 3% following the earnings report. Analysts praised the company’s ability to adapt to changing consumer tastes and its focus on emerging markets.
