Grenoble Bar Attack Leaves 12 Injured, Terrorism Ruled Out

A grenade was thrown into a bar in Grenoble’s Olympic Village district on Wednesday night, injuring 12 people, six of whom are critically wounded. The attacker, who is on the run and has not been identified, reportedly entered the bar without saying a word and fled after throwing the grenade.

The assailant was also carrying an assault rifle similar to a Kalashnikov, which he did not use. French prosecutor Francois Touret de Couxy has stated that terrorism has been ruled out in the incident, but the motive remains unclear. The police have found the spoon of the grenade at the scene and are investigating.

The bar is a popular gathering place for locals and football fans, with 80 firefighters responding to the scene. No arrests have been made yet, and the attacker’s identity remains unknown.
