Blake Lively Sues Justin Baldoni and Others Over Alleged Smear Campaign

Blake Lively’s legal team has issued subpoenas to a crisis PR firm consultant, Jed Wallace, as well as several telecom companies, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Cloudflare. The move comes amid an ongoing lawsuit between Lively and her co-star Justin Baldoni, who is accused of orchestrating a smear campaign against her.

Lively’s attorneys claim that they will receive all relevant records from the telecom companies, which could provide evidence of the alleged smear campaign. They also plan to file an amended lawsuit against Baldoni, his partner Jamey Heath, and their publicist Jennifer Abel, as well as crisis PR executive Melissa Nathan.

The subpoenas follow a week after Lively’s team dropped a request to depose Wallace, who filed an 11-page defamation suit against Lively. Lively’s legal team is seeking evidence of the smear campaign, including internal messages bragging about their success in shifting the narrative to focus on her.

In response to the subpoenas, Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman claimed that they were a “massive fishing expedition” and that Lively would find no factual basis for her claims. However, Lively’s team remains committed to uncovering evidence of the alleged smear campaign.

The trial date is set for March 2026, with this latest development adding more complexity to the already contentious lawsuit.
