US actor John Lithgow is reportedly set to play Albus Dumbledore in the upcoming new Harry Potter TV series. According to film industry outlets Variety and Deadline, Lithgow is “in final talks” to sign up for the role of Hogwarts headmaster.
Lithgow, known for his iconic roles in sitcoms like 3rd Rock from the Sun and films like Shrek and The Crown, would be joining a new cast that will feature young stars playing key characters. The TV series, which is expected to start filming this summer, promises to be a “faithful adaptation” of JK Rowling’s iconic books.
