Wendy Williams, the renowned talk show host, is currently being held in a long-term care facility due to declining health. A new documentary, “TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy Williams,” sheds light on her experience behind bars, with Williams describing it as a “suffocating” and isolating environment.
According to the documentary, Williams has been living in the facility for over a year, with limited access to technology and freedom. She often eats meals alone, citing feelings of depression and despair. The former talk show host expressed her desire to regain control over her life, stating that her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, is “preventing” her from doing so.
Morrissey has been appointed by the court to oversee Williams’ personal and financial affairs since 2022, following a formal diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia and primary progressive aphasia. However, Williams denies the diagnosis, claiming Morrissey prefers to keep her restricted.
The documentary raises concerns about Williams’ living conditions, with limited access to fresh air, technology, and even visits from loved ones. A recent video captured Williams crying in her room, frustrated while on a phone call.
As Williams seeks to regain control over her life, her guardian has requested another medical evaluation to assess the validity of her dementia diagnosis. If successful, it could potentially end Morrissey’s guardianship and allow Williams to return home.
