Mother Says Adopted Daughter Denied Heart Transplant Due to Vaccination Status

The Deal family, who adopted 12-year-old Adaline from China, is speaking out after their daughter was denied a place on the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital heart transplant list due to her vaccination status. Adaline was born with two heart conditions that require a transplant.

When the family first adopted Adaline, an adoption agency told them to pick another child because of her medical condition, but they continued to support her and brought her home. However, after a few months, Jeneen Deal said Adaline’s health began to decline, and she was hospitalized several times.

The family claims that the hospital denied Adaline’s request for a heart transplant due to her COVID vaccination status, which is against their religious beliefs. The mother, Jeneen Deal, stated that she and her husband had asked for a religious exemption but were denied.

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital has stated that its policies are guided by science, research, and best practices, but the family disagrees. Stephanie Stock, president of Ohio Advocates for Medical Freedom, claims that the hospital’s policy is discriminatory and based on NIH recommendations.

The family is now seeking help through a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Adaline’s heart transplant process. Despite the challenges, Jeneen Deal remains hopeful and says she will continue to plead with the hospital to change its decision.
