Samsung has officially confirmed its latest mid-range offering, the Galaxy A56 5G, thanks to a leak from Hall of Fame leaker Evan Blass. The device boasts several upgrades over its predecessor, the Galaxy A55 5G.
The phone features a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 and a 120Hz refresh rate, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. This is an upgrade from the Galaxy A55 5G’s 25W fast charging capability, which now boasts 45W fast charging.
Under the hood, the Galaxy A56 5G is powered by the 4nm Exynos 1580 application processor (AP) and comes with 8GB of RAM. The phone also has expandable storage options of up to 128GB.
The triple camera array on the back features a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5 MP Macro camera for extreme close-ups. The punch-hole front-facing camera is expected to be backed by a 12 MP sensor.
The Galaxy A56 5G has an IP67 rating, making it dust-resistant and capable of withstanding being submerged in clear water up to 1 meter (3.3 feet) for 30 minutes.
It’s worth noting that the Galaxy A55 5G was not released in the US market, and there are no indications that this year’s model will follow suit.
