The team made adjustments to their lineups and defense pairings during the second period, which paid off when Matt Boldy scored at 17:04 to give the US a lead.
US center Jack Eichel praised his teammates for making progress in building chemistry and adapting to their new system. “I thought we did a lot of good things tonight,” he said after the win.
