Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan lashed out at Israel during a visit to Pakistan, condemning its policies towards Palestinians in Gaza and warning that the region is being dragged “toward blood and tears again.”
Erdogan reiterated his opposition to relocating Palestinians from Gaza, saying it was not up for bargaining. He also expressed support for Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen security ties with Turkey.
The visit came as tensions over Gaza continued, with both leaders calling for a permanent ceasefire and greater humanitarian assistance. Erdogan met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss trade, defense, and cooperation on the Palestinian issue.
Pakistan and Turkey pledged to work together to counter terrorist groups in Afghanistan, while condemning Israel’s actions as a result of “indiscriminate use of force” against Palestinians. The two countries also stressed that any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land constitute blatant violations of international law.
Erdogan’s visit was seen as an attempt to strengthen ties with Pakistan and promote the Turkish position on the Gaza issue.
