Bloom Energy and Quanta Computer have expanded their partnership to power the growing demand for critical hardware in the AI industry. The new agreement increases the power capacity of Quanta’s existing Bloom SOFC installation by over 150% and will help meet the rapidly growing demand for orders.
As AI continues to reshape industries worldwide, its data centers are becoming increasingly important. Most AI data centers are located in the US, where reliable power is a significant challenge due to constrained grid capacity and high real estate costs. Quanta’s manufacturing expansion was hindered by costly interconnection delays to the local utility, prompting them to turn to an islanded Bloom Energy SOFC microgrid installation.
The expanded partnership will create Bloom’s largest islanded, load-following industrial installation, which will provide Quanta with a flexible and scalable solution for its energy needs. This collaboration addresses both short- and long-term energy requirements and ensures resilience against power outages while providing predictability in energy costs.
Bloom Energy is on track to deliver the expanded power capacity ahead of schedule next year, demonstrating significant Time to Power advantages over traditional grid infrastructure. The company’s microgrid solution empowers businesses and communities to responsibly take charge of their energy needs, supporting lower carbon energy today and a net-zero future for industries worldwide.
