Kendrick Lamar Smashes Records with Super Bowl Halftime Show

Kendrick Lamar’s record-breaking Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show drew a massive audience of 133.5 million viewers, surpassing even last year’s headliner Usher’s 123.4 million viewers. The performance, which aired on Apple Music and was produced by Roc Nation and the NFL, broke the previous record for most-watched halftime show.

The show featured a star-studded lineup, including Samuel L. Jackson, SZA, Serena Williams, and Mustard, with many performing songs from Kendrick Lamar’s 2024 Billboard-topping LP GNX. He also delivered his hit singles “Squabble Up,” “Peekaboo,” and “Luther” (feat. SZA), as well as his epic rap beef with Drake.

The performance marked another milestone for Kendrick Lamar, who became the first solo rapper to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The event’s massive viewership even outdid the average 126 million viewers of the Big Game itself, which saw the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22.

Kendrick Lamar and his collaborator SZA are set to embark on a Grand National Tour in April, with plans for a U.K. and Europe leg in July.
