Meta Chief Technology Officer Andrew Bosworth’s comments on a leaked meeting, which criticized the company’s policies following US President Donald Trump’s inauguration, also got leaked online. The leaked messages came after CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced changes aimed at addressing information leaks during an all-hands meeting held on January 30.
Bosworth initially shared his concerns about the leak of today’s Q&A session in a post on Meta’s internal forum, stating that “as predicted” the details had been leaked and that someone had given the audio feed to a journalist. The comments were made public despite an earlier warning from Meta’s Vice President of internal communications, who informed employees ahead of the meeting about changes to address information leaks.
The leaked messages revealed Bosworth engaging in a verbal spat with an employee who was critical of the company’s recent policy changes. The staffer argued that the new policies targeted the LGBTQ community and supported far-right ideology. Bosworth suggested they could quit if they disagreed with the policies, sparking further controversy.
