YouTube TV to Lose CBS, CBS Sports Channels Amid March Madness

YouTube TV users are facing a major disruption as negotiations between the streaming service and Paramount have failed to produce a content renewal agreement. The deal would have allowed YouTube to retain the Paramount channels, including CBS and CBS Sports, which will feature major sporting events like March Madness and The Masters.

The YouTube Team has stated that despite good faith negotiations, no agreement was reached. As a result, all Paramount channels, including CBS and CBS Sports, may no longer be available on YouTube TV after February 13, 2025. This also affects existing Paramount content, such as Paramount+ with SHOWTIME and BET+.

To mitigate the impact, YouTube will provide an $8 credit to users if Paramount’s content is unavailable for a prolonged period. The service has over 8 million subscribers, according to CEO Neal Mohan.

Viewers can still access these channels through other streaming services or traditional cable TV providers. A comprehensive list of affected channels can be found here.
