Quanta, Bloom Energy Boost AI Production with Expanded Microgrid Deal

Bloom Energy and Quanta Computer Inc. have expanded their agreement to power the production of critical hardware serving the AI industry. The deal increases the power capacity of Quanta’s existing Bloom SOFC installation by more than 150 percent.

The partnership is significant as it addresses Quanta’s short- and long-term energy needs, providing resilience to unplanned power outages and predictability in energy costs. With growing demand for orders, Quanta turned to an islanded Bloom Energy SOFC microgrid installation to deliver reliable power, which has now been expanded to meet the company’s needs.

“Bloom’s SOFC microgrids provide AI customers with a flexible solution that is ready to scale,” said Aman Joshi, Bloom Energy’s global Chief Commercial Officer. “This effectively shortens interconnection permitting associated with traditional infrastructures.”

The expansion of this partnership will create Bloom’s largest islanded, load-following industrial installation, and the company is on track to deliver the expanded power capacity ahead of schedule early next year.

As AI continues to grow rapidly, companies like Quanta require reliable and flexible power solutions. The partnership between Bloom Energy and Quanta demonstrates the benefits of microgrid technology in addressing energy needs and reducing costs for businesses.
