3 Annoying iOS 18 Features That Can Be Fixed

As an iPhone user since 2007, I’ve grown accustomed to the latest features in each iOS update. However, iOS 18 has a few features that don’t jive with my way of using it. Here are three new features that can be fixed to make them more user-friendly.

One feature that’s particularly annoying is the overhaul of the Photos app on iOS 18. The default view is cluttered with recent photos, friend and family collections, and other features that I don’t need. To customize the Photos app, swipe down from the bottom, tap “Customize and Reorder,” and uncheck any unwanted features.

Another feature that’s driving me crazy is the new Control Center on iOS 18, which has multiple pages of controls. While this might be useful for some users, I prefer a single-page layout. To fix this issue, swipe up to access additional pages, press down on a blank area, and remove any unwanted controls.

Lastly, the new Siri feature in iOS 18 is also annoying me. The Type to Siri feature, which allows you to type instead of speak, can be accidentally enabled by double-tapping at the bottom center of your screen. To disable this feature without disabling Siri entirely, go to Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri > Talk & Type to Siri and toggle off Type to Siri.

By making these simple changes, I’m able to restore my iPhone experience to its former glory.
