Apple’s iOS 18.3 beta cycle wrapped up weeks ago, and new betas typically arrive shortly after a public software launch. However, the wait for iOS 18.4 beta 1 has been longer than usual.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iOS 18.4 beta is expected to debut between mid-February and early March. Although this week passed with no beta release, Gurman’s prediction suggests that next Tuesday, February 20, could be the likely release date.
Apple has confirmed that iOS 18.4 will ship publicly in April, indicating that it cannot wait much longer to start beta testing for upcoming Apple Intelligence and Siri upgrades.
While a three-week gap between betas is unusual, it’s not unprecedented. The pattern was disrupted in 2023 when iOS 16.4 beta 1 arrived on February 16, but more often, new x.4 betas are released shortly after x.3 shipments.
iOS 18.4’s release date will be determined by Apple’s standard schedule, which typically sees new betas arrive within days of a public launch.
