China Vows ‘Resolute’ Response to US ‘Bullying’

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi has warned that Beijing will respond firmly to any “unilateral bullying practice” by the US, but also expressed confidence in building stable ties with Washington. Addressing the Munich Security Conference in Germany, Wang stated that China wants to establish “stable, sound and sustainable” relations with the US. However, if the US is unwilling to cooperate, Beijing will be forced to respond resolutely.

Wang emphasized that a conflict between the two nations would have disastrous consequences for the world. Instead, he urged respect and understanding between Washington and Beijing. The Chinese minister also reiterated China’s stance on Taiwan, stating that the international community should support mainland China’s reunification with the self-ruled island.
