Chelsea’s Worst Performance Under Maresca Ends in Defeat

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca described his team’s 3-0 loss to Brighton as “the worst performance of my tenure”. The defeat marked the second time this week that Chelsea have struggled against Brighton, with injuries to Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu forcing the team into a toothless frontline.

Maresca expressed frustration on Sky Sports, stating that his team needs to do better in crucial moments. He also acknowledged the pressure that comes with their current position, just four games from the end of the season.

Chelsea have won only two of their last nine Premier League games and were eliminated from the FA Cup by Brighton earlier this week. However, they remain fourth in the table, still in contention for a European finish.

Brighton’s win moved them to eighth place, ending their 12-match winless streak against Manchester City and Newcastle United.
