50 Years of SNL Music History Comes Together

The highly anticipated “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, celebrating 50 years of Saturday Night Live’s musical legacy. Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the event featured a star-studded lineup of performers, including Cher, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Snoop Dogg, and many more.

The concert was filled with nostalgic performances from iconic artists of the 1990s, such as The Backstreet Boys, Lauryn Hill, and Wyclef Jean. Other highlights included comedy sketches featuring former SNL cast members like Will Ferrell and Ana Gastayer, who played music teachers, and a special collaboration between Lady Gaga and herself.

The event also showcased creative musical collaborations, including performances by Arcade Fire, David Byrne, St. Vincent, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, as well as a reunion of the Nirvana band with Post Malone filling in for Kurt Cobain’s iconic vocals.

Questlove’s performance with The Roots brought the house down, celebrating the drummer’s producing work on a documentary about SNL’s musical legacy. The concert marked an extraordinary tribute to Lorne Michaels, who was frequently praised by performers throughout the night.
