NYSE Relocates Chicago HQ to Dallas Amid Texas’s Business Boom

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has announced plans to relocate its Chicago headquarters to Dallas, Texas. The move is seen as a response to the state’s business-friendly environment and growing economy. With over 3.3 million startups and small businesses, Texas now boasts one in every ten US publicly traded companies.

As the largest market leader in the state, Texas has attracted numerous big-name companies, including Charles Schwab, Oracle, and HPE, citing favorable taxes and regulations as a key factor. Billionaire Elon Musk’s relocation of Tesla and SpaceX to Austin in 2021 added momentum to the migration. The state is now home to a thriving startup ecosystem and one of the world’s largest economies.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott stated that with the launch of NYSE Texas, the state will expand its financial might in the US and solidify its position as an economic powerhouse globally. The arrival of the centuries-old NYSE signals that Dallas may emerge as Texas’s new financial capital, rivaling Silicon Valley and Wall Street.
