NBC’s months-long “SNL50” celebration reached its climax on Friday night at Radio City Music Hall, welcoming hundreds of celebrities to mark the show’s 50th anniversary. The invitees included Tom Hanks, Jason Momoa, Peyton Manning, and many more “Saturday Night Live” alumni like Adam Sandler, John Mulaney, and Molly Shannon.
The concert was part of a weekend-long celebration that culminated in a special airing on NBC Sunday night. The show’s head honcho Lorne Michaels made a rare appearance before the event. The star-studded lineup for the concert included Martin Short and Meryl Streep, who were spotted together on camera.
Jimmy Fallon kicked off the performance with a “Blues Brothers”-inspired number, followed by appearances from Miley Cyrus, Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, and the Backstreet Boys. The concert is streaming live on Peacock and has been produced by Broadway Video, with producers Erin David and Caroline Maroney, supervising producers Ken Aymong and Rob Paine, and director Beth McCarthy-Miller leading the team.
