AMD will reveal details about its next-generation graphics card, the Radeon RX 9070 XT, on February 28 at 8am EST. The new card is expected to compete with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 4080 Super in the mid-range market.
The RX 9070 XT is rumored to feature 16GB of video memory, although this has not been confirmed by AMD. It will use a standard 8-pin power connector, unlike Nvidia’s current models which use a 12VPWR connector.
AMD’s Vice President and General Manager of Ryzen CPU and Radeon Graphics, David McAfee, stated that the company will focus on increasing market share in the mid-range segment with the RX 9070 XT.
The card is expected to be priced competitively with Nvidia’s RTX 50-series cards, potentially offering better value for users. However, it may not surpass the performance of AMD’s existing flagship graphics card, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, which uses the newer RDNA 4 GPU architecture.
To watch the reveal on February 28, follow AMD’s YouTube channel. The Radeon RX 9070 XT is expected to be available for purchase in early March, according to AMD’s announcement schedule.
