Oppo Unveils Foldable With World’s Thinnest Profile & Advanced Camera Features

Oppo is gearing up to unveil its next-gen foldable, the Find N5, next week. In the lead-up to the big reveal, the company has shared photo samples taken with its previously rumored telephoto macro mode, confirming the feature and giving a glimpse of what its camera can do.

The Find N5 boasts an impressive array of features, including a world’s thinnest profile at just 8.93mm when folded, making it slimmer than the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and feature DeepSeek-R1, a Chinese AI model that offers impressive efficiency and capabilities.

The Find N5 also comes with advanced camera features, including telephoto macro mode, which allows users to capture detailed close-ups without having to get extremely close to the subject. The phone will also support wireless charging, with 50W fast wireless charging capabilities.

However, there’s a twist for the global version of the Find N5. In a teaser video, Google’s Gemini AI was visibly running on the device, suggesting that the international model might rely on Google’s AI instead of Oppo’s DeepSeek-R1. Additionally, OnePlus won’t be launching a foldable this year, which means the rumored OnePlus Open 2 is not happening.

The Find N5 is set to launch globally on February 20, alongside its Chinese release. This strategic shift could indicate that Oppo is aiming for a broader market. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the official launch.
