Wisconsin Beats Purdue 94-84 Behind John Tonje’s Strong Second Half

No. 16 Wisconsin outlasted No. 7 Purdue 94-81 in a crucial Big Ten matchup, thanks to strong second-half performances from John Tonje and Max Klesmit.

Tonje scored 22 of his 32 points after halftime, leading the Badgers to their fourth consecutive win. The 10-point lead he scored during an 11-0 run midway through the second half sealed the victory for Wisconsin.

The Boilermakers struggled to find a consistent scoring option in the second half, with Kaufman-Renn accounting for 21 of Purdue’s 47 points. The Badgers took advantage, shooting 18 of 25 from the field and making six three-pointers without committing a turnover.

Purdue honored All-American forward Caleb Swanigan at halftime, but the loss marked their second straight setback. Wisconsin takes on Illinois at home Tuesday, while Purdue visits No. 11 Michigan State on Tuesday.
