Trump Backs Israel in Hostage Release Crisis

US President Donald Trump has taken a strong stance against Hamas after three more Israeli hostages, including an American citizen, were released from Gaza. The release comes as the 42-day cease-fire pact is on the verge of collapse due to Hamas’ claims that Israel broke several terms of the agreement.

Trump congratulated the released hostages and expressed support for their families, but also made it clear that he wants all hostages to be released unconditionally. He stated that Israel will have to make a decision regarding the tenuous cease-fire with Hamas after Saturday’s 12:00 PM deadline for the release of all remaining hostages.

The US President assured that the United States would back whatever decision Israel makes, indicating a significant show of support for the Israeli government in this crisis. This stance echoes earlier statements from Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, who warned that if Hamas did not release hostages, “all hell will break loose” and a new Gaza war would not end until terrorists were eliminated.

The released hostages include Sagui Dekel-Chen, 36; Alexander Troufanov, 29; and Yair Horn, 46, all of whom were abducted on October 7, 2023. Their release was facilitated by the International Committee of the Red Cross and Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
