Sheryl Crow Donates $1M to NPR After Selling Tesla

Singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow has donated $1 million to National Public Radio (NPR) after selling her Tesla and expressing her disapproval of the company’s CEO, Elon Musk.

In a video posted on Instagram, Crow explained that she had sold her Tesla and donated the money to NPR. She stated that she was “under threat” by President Musk and that she could no longer align with the company due to its actions in Donald Trump’s second administration. Specifically, Musk tweeted “Defund NPR. It should survive on its own,” which Crow took as a personal attack.

Despite her decision to part ways with Tesla, Crow is set to embark on several tour dates this year, including headlining shows and performances at the 2025 iteration of Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival tour. The move comes after Crow supported rising artists with an intimate concert showcase in Massachusetts earlier this month.
