Nintendo has made it easier for buyers to purchase its popular Alarmo sound clock online, discontinuing the requirement for a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. This change allows fans who missed out due to the prior requirement to now easily get their hands on the device.
The Nintendo Alarmo was initially released as a surprise product in 2023, sparking high demand and changes in plans for its Japan release. To cater to this demand, Nintendo partnered with hotels to rent out Alarmo clocks to guests. The partnership allows hotel visitors to wake up with familiar Nintendo sound effects.
While the subscription requirement has been lifted, users still need a Nintendo account to download updates, which are free. However, those who prefer to make purchases offline may face a longer wait as the retail release is slated for March 2025 at standard retailers like Walmart and Target. Fans can expect to see the Alarmo in stores come March, but be prepared for possible high demand from resellers.
