A possible infectious disease was reported at a Manhattan urgent care center on Sunday morning. The CityMD on East 125th Street between Lexington and 3rd avenues was the location of the incident, which occurred around 11:15 a.m.
Two patients were treated by paramedics using personal protective equipment before being taken to a local hospital. However, after consulting with the city’s Department of Health, officials determined that the disease was not Ebola.
The condition and identity of the two patients remain unclear. The New York City Acting Health Commissioner Dr. Michelle Morse confirmed that neither patient had exposure to Ebola or other risk factors. An investigation is ongoing, and the NYC Health Department is working closely with the FDNY, CityMD, and NYC Health + Hospitals.
