Bengals Work on Long-Term Deal with Tee Higgins

Cincinnati Bengals are focused on signing wide receiver Tee Higgins to a long-term deal. A franchise tag is possible if an agreement can’t be reached before March 4, which would cost $26.2 million. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has expressed his desire to keep Higgins in Cincinnati for the long term.

Higgins, drafted in 2020 and selected by the same team as Burrow, has been explosive with two 1,000-yard receiving seasons. He is a key component of the Bengals’ offense, complementing Ja’Marr Chase, who also needs an extension. However, Higgins’ consistency is an issue due to hamstring issues that have caused him to miss five games in each of the past two seasons.

Despite this, the Bengals appear willing to address Higgins’ health concerns and keep their top receiving duo intact. If Higgins becomes available through a franchise tag or extension, many teams will reassess their free agency plans. The Bengals would be pleased to retain Higgins’ production, which is essential for their high-scoring offense.
