Spotify is considering launching a new music streaming service called “Music Pro” that would offer higher-quality audio, remixing tools, and access to concert tickets. The service would cost up to $5.99 per month, with prices varying by geography.
The company has held preliminary talks with major promoters and ticket sellers, and the service is expected to use artificial intelligence for some features. Subscribers would be able to mix together songs from different artists using this technology.
Spotify recently signed multi-year deals with Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group, which could support the development of personalized music offerings, including a premium tier called “superfans of music.” The company forecasts 678 million monthly active users for the first quarter.
While details are still being worked out, Spotify has denied confirming speculation about the new service.
