A measles outbreak is growing in a Texas county with dangerously low vaccination rates, according to local health officials. As of February 12, there have been 24 reported cases, mostly among children, with at least 14 hospitalizations. The South Plains Public Health District has detected the virus in two neighboring counties and is investigating potential cases to curb its spread. With hospitals already struggling to care for those infected, the district’s director warns that undiagnosed cases may still be active, posing a significant risk to public health.
