Apple is set to upgrade its popular Vision Pro headset with artificial intelligence (AI) features, including Writing Tools, Genmoji, and Image Playground, without requiring any new hardware.
The company has been working on integrating its AI technology into the Vision Pro, which will bring significant improvements to the device’s functionality. According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple Intelligence upgrades will be rolled out to the headset starting from April, when iOS 18 is expected to be released.
The upgrade includes a new app that will deliver more spatial content to the headset, potentially becoming a hub for all spatial content from Apple and other companies. This move could attract more customers to the Vision Pro, which has seen mixed reviews due to its high price tag.
However, it remains unclear when the update will actually arrive for the headset. Despite previous promises, Apple’s AI feature upgrade is now expected to coincide with iOS 18.5, rather than the previously announced April release date. The company’s development challenges are evident, as suggested by the delay in releasing new Siri features, which were initially planned for the same time frame.
With the first beta of iOS 18.4 set to be released next week, Apple is preparing for a major software update that will improve the Vision Pro’s AI capabilities. The update also coincides with the release of the new iPhone SE 4, scheduled for launch later this month.
