SpaceX has made history by landing its booster in The Bahamas for the first time. On Tuesday, Feb. 18, the company completed the first orbital flight that took off from two different countries – the United States and The Bahamas.
The Falcon 9 rocket booster, tail number B1080, launched at 6:21 p.m. EST (2321 UTC) on the Starlink 10-12 mission. After a successful liftoff, the rocket landed on the droneship ‘Just Read the Instructions’ (JRTI), positioned off the coast of Exuma in The Bahamas.
This achievement marks SpaceX’s 21st orbital launch attempt for the year and its 110th landing on JRTI. The booster touchdown also represents the 410th booster landing to date.
SpaceX used a Falcon 9 first stage booster, which had previously launched four Dragon flights and nine Starlink missions. The company has set another record with this landing, making it a significant milestone in its space exploration efforts.
