Eagles Assistant Line Coach Joins Saints Coaching Staff

The New Orleans Saints are gaining a piece of Chip Kelly’s coaching staff after hiring Eagles run game specialist/assistant offensive line coach T.J. Paganetti, according to report Nick Underhill. This move comes as a result of the team being unable to secure legendary Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland.

Paganetti, a two-time Super Bowl champion and former Oregon Graduate assistant/linebackers coach, has experience working under Stoutland. The Saints have opted for one of his proteges instead. Paganetti’s new title is not yet clear.

In other news, Underhill reports that Eagles quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier is the favorite to become the Saints’ new offensive coordinator, following former Eagles head coach Kellen Moore’s hiring as head coach. With Nussmeier reportedly on track for OC and Brandon Staley favored for defensive coordinator, the Eagles may retain key assistants Jemal Singleton and Christian Parker.

The departure of Paganetti and Nussmeier appears to be a significant loss for the Eagles coaching staff, but the team’s chances of retaining key personnel remain intact.
