Leading Arab countries are convening a summit in Riyadh to discuss an alternative to counter President Donald Trump’s transfer plan for Gaza. The “small” summit, initially scheduled for the day before the planned Israel-Gaza truce, may be postponed by a day due to scheduling coordination.
The event will involve six Gulf states and is seen as a significant display of strength by the wealthy pro-Western bloc against the US administration’s policy. However, if Trump agrees to Palestinian control of Gaza, Arab leaders risk being unable to prevent the continuation of the war.
