Young Mum’s Life-Saving Symptom Revealed as Brain Tumour Diagnosis

A 22-year-old mum-of-one, Jade Collett, was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour after experiencing a mysterious symptom in her right foot. The unusual symptom led her GP to order an MRI scan, which revealed the life-threatening diagnosis.

Jade had been on a night out with friends when she began noticing strange symptoms in her right foot. Despite initially thinking it might be related to hip dysplasia from her pregnancy, she soon realized that something was seriously wrong. Her friends laughed off her concerns, thinking she was too drunk to notice anything out of the ordinary.

However, Jade’s symptoms persisted, and she visited her GP, who sent her for further testing. The results showed that she had a Grade 4 Glioblastoma brain tumour in her motor cortex, affecting mobility in her foot.

The diagnosis was devastating, with Jade being told she had just two years to live. However, nine years after her initial diagnosis, Jade is still alive and doctors “cannot explain” why.

Jade credits her unusual symptom for helping save her life by catching the hidden cancer early. She underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy but has since stopped treatment due to the tumour’s inoperability.

Despite being told she had a limited lifespan, Jade defied the odds and is now 32 years old. Her foot remains numb and bent, serving as a constant reminder of her life-threatening diagnosis. Doctors have called her a miracle for surviving nine years with the tumour, which has left them baffled by her prolonged health.

Jade’s story highlights the importance of taking symptoms seriously, even if they seem unrelated or minor. Her unusual foot symptom may have saved her life, and she remains grateful for every day she gets to spend with her loved ones.
