Luxury NYC Homes Sell for Record $364.7M

Manhattan’s luxury real estate market saw its highest weekly sales volume in almost three years last week, with 37 contracts signed for $4 million or more. The total sale value reached $364.7 million, surpassing the previous record of $368.5 million set in December 2021.

The strong sales were driven by a mix of condos, co-ops, and townhouses, including a luxury penthouse in the West Village asking $45 million. Another notable deal was a penthouse at 15 Central Park West selling for $39 million after being reduced from its initial asking price of $65 million.

These high-end sales come as Russian billionaire Valery Kogan has been trying to sell “hundreds of millions” worth of properties, including condos in New York and homes abroad. The recent sale at 15 Central Park West was saved from foreclosure by the buyer, marking a significant turn for Kogan’s struggling real estate business.
