Johnson & Johnson starts a two-week trial on Feb. 18 over its plan to end tens of thousands of lawsuits filed by women claiming its baby powder gave them cancer. The company is using bankruptcy to try to settle the suits, but courts in New Jersey and Philadelphia have blocked similar attempts. This time, J&J hopes a Texas judge will approve its proposed $9 billion settlement, backed by supporters of the plan.
